Prior to joining Finance Belize, Solangel worked in the financial services industry at both the domestic and international levels for over 18 years primarily in marketing, operations, customer service and project management. Her profession over the years has equipped her with strong leadership and management skills. She expanded her knowledge in Compliance at the Financial Intelligence Unit overseeing the Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions portfolio. Her experience and skills traverses marketing, operations, and corporate governance.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management along with certificates in Fund Administration and Company Law and Administration from The Chartered Governance Institute coupled with certificates in Managerial Leadership, Customer Service, Sales, HR Recruiting, and Anti-Money Laundering.
